It was a fantastic day on Monday for our Swimming Sports. There was a change in format this year which saw all our events on the day become straight finals for Years 9 - 13. Our Prep School Swimming Sports are scheduled for a later date. This made for some extremely successful swimming events as we could relax and have a little more rest between multiple races. It also made for some very fast racing - particularly in our Intermediate Girls age group which had all of the races decided by less than half a second margins.
It was wonderful to have visual updates on the television screen poolside. This made for a great celebration of our top swimmers as they broke records and helped keep the houses aware of how many points they had and where they could look to score more points.
Congratulations to our Top Swimmers:
13 school records were broken this year and fantastic swims from Tyler Tapper broke 5 records – 50 Back, 100 Free, 100 Back, 100 IM, and 200 Free for our Senior Boys.
Harvey Williams broke the 50 Backstroke for Intermediate Boys, Danielle Joblin set the new school standards in the 200 Free, 100 Free, and 50 Free for Intermediate Girls along with Jade Houston chimed in with records in the 50 Back and 100 Back.
Also in that age group, Katelyn Flynn picked up the 50 Fly record. Hanna House picked up the relay record for Senior Girls. Fantastic Swimming from everyone.
Full points standing will be announced once our Prep School swimmers have completed their Swimming Sports in March.
